NEW MOUNTING ENCLOSURE
Due to the commencement of Singapore Sky Channel the Mt Barker Turf Club has created a NEW mounting yard INSIDE the race track. This should make for a far better raceday experience for all involved on course and on Sky channel.
Please be aware of the following rules on raceday.
RACEDAY PROTOCOL:
1 All horses must be marshalled in the existing mounting yard 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time
2 Strappers must pick up number order when called and lead their horses (in number order) across the track into the new mounting yard.
3 Horses must be walked in an anti-clockwise direction in the mounting yard.
4 Jockey’s & trainers will enter the mounting yard through the same gate the horses walked through - immediately after the last horse has entered – instructions are to be given in this area.
5 After mounting, the horses will again pick up number order and continue to walk in an anti-clockwise fashion until the clerk of the course calls for them to leave the EXIT gate.
6 Strappers will walk their horses down the EXIT CHUTE to the gate and let them go heading LEFT down the straight towards the finish post to do their preliminary.
7 Strappers are to walk back down the EXIT chute on the SAME SIDE as the strapper approaching them.
No-one is to exit across or down the track.
8 Trainers and strappers will be allowed to cross the track when all horses have passed the corner after their preliminary.
*** Problem horses (or) horses NOT wanting to do a Prelim MUST exit by the same Exit Chute as the other horses but must obtain permission from the stewards to leave first (or) with Mounted Steward help.***
Please ensure you are familiar with these rules on
Race day. Times will be strictly adhered to and any trainer/strapper that is late will be fined by the stewards.
Thankyou for your cooperation.
